From the article: Latin American Restaurants and Eats in Jackson Heights - An Eating Tour
Jackson Heights, the best neighborhood for Peruvian and Indian restaurants? Or a neighborhood that got over-hyped by foodies? Which restaurants keep you coming back for years? I got ideas for many, but not all. What Jackson Heights restaurant would you recommend to a friend? Please share. Share Your Tastes
Urubamba

Jackson Heights Tastes
- - Pio Pio (for chicken and green sauce, sausage, garlic sauce) - Haat Bazaar (37-11 73rd St Jackson Heights, NY 11372) - Don't be thrown off by the grocery store. Just look to the left as you enter the store and you will see the restaurant/diner. It has great fish, chicken and biryani dishes (some kebabs, too). You pick what you want and they warm it up and bring it to you. They also make fresh chapatis/roti/naan etc. This is a Bangladeshi place, so you are in for some fish entrees that you won't ordinarily find at most Indian restaurants. - Do you have a favorite Kebab place in Jackson Heights?

Indian improved from several years ago
- Jackson Heights' South Asian offerings were a bit tired a couple of years ago. Curry Hill (Manhattan) and Richmond Hill (Queens) had more variety and flavorful options. But in the past couple of years, that has started to change. Mehfil and Delhi Heights have revitalized the Indian restaurant scene. There's a whole crop of new restautants and eateries serving Tibetan/Himalayan cuisine (notably Mustang Thakali Kitchen). And Nanking serves excellent Indian-Chinese. Jackson Heights' Latin American restaurants are incredibly diverse, and there's a whole cottage industry of bloggers dedicated to exploring them. Mexican newcomer El Coyote is particularly worth a trip. For dessert don't miss Cannelle Pastisserie!

new delhi palace
- My wife and I have found the food and environment to be the best on the strip. We walk right by the Jackson and into the comfortable Delhi where the waiting staff are polite and friendly and the samosas are tasty.
