What are your favorite restaurants to eat in Jamaica? And, where won't you return for another meal? Where do you recommend for lunch while on jury duty? Please share your tastes. Share your comments

Jamaica Ave restaurants are lacking

On Jamaica Ave there is nothing worth mentioning beyond Rincon Salvadoreno and a couple of other nearby Salvadoreno places. There used to be a good Jamaican/Chinese place that failed. In the vicinity of the 169 St F station (Hillside) several very simple Pak/Bangla Halal kebab formula restaurants have clustered. Further out on Hillside there are some intriguing Guyanese places. But I haven't sampled any and there are only a few skimpy mentions on the Inet.

El Rey is cheap but better

The chicken lunches at El Rey are definitely cheap, but so much better than what cheap food usually means around the courthouse. There are also plenty of seats or take it to go.
