Walking over the Queensboro Bridge gives you a great view of Long Island City, the East River, and Upper East Side of Manhattan. Not well loved as a walk over the Brooklyn Bridge, the Queensboro Bridge walk can be an interesting afternoon exploration. Here are some tips and advice on local sights and nearby restaurants.
Manhattan Side - Enter Queensboro Bridge:
Entrance is on East 60th Street, midway between First and Second Avenues. The nearest subway stop is Lexington Ave-59th St (N, R, W, 4, 5, and 6 trains).
Queens Side - Enter Queensboro Bridge:
Entrance is at Crescent Street and Queens Plaza North. It's a slog through Queens Plaza and Queensboro Plaza, but trust me, it's worth it. Grab the #7 subway at 45th Road-Court House Square in Queensboro Plaza.
The walk across the Queensboro Bridge is not as nice as the one of the Brooklyn Bridge. Or even the Williamsburg Bridge. You walk close to the cars. What's great about it is the view. Enjoy.
