Irie Jamboree is an annual reggae and dancehall music festival in Queens, New York. The all-day event brings top name performers to Roy Wilkins Park in Jamaica / St. Albans, Queens. The park is awash that day with flags from throughout the Caribbean, especially Jamaica and Guyana, and you better get your tickets early and get to the park early.
Irie Jamboree - Concert at Roy Wilins Park: In 2007 Irie Jamboree is in its seventh year. Its 2006 concert won the honor of Top Concert at the International Reggae & World Music Awards earlier in 2007, beating out Jamaica's own Reggae Sumfest. Promoters claimed 25,000 attended the 2006 festival.

Stephen "Raggamuffin" Marley at Irie Jamboree : Headlining in 2007 is Grammy-award-winner Stephen "Raggamuffin" Marley, one of Bob Marley's sons. His debut album Mind Control came out in early 2007. He's known for producing and performing with his brother Damian Marley, and was once a member of Ziggy Marley & The Melody Makers.
Directions to Irie Jamboree and Roy Wilkins Park: The main entrance to Roy Wilkins Park is at Baisley Blvd and 177th Street.
From the Van Wyck Expressway, exit at Rockaway Boulevard (east). Then turn left on Baisley Boulevard. Avoid Linden Boulevard: it will be a mess of traffic.
From the Belt Parkway, exit at Farmers Boulevard (north). Then turn left on Merrick Boulevard and right on Baisley Boulevard.
Parking will be tough and only on side streets. Public transportation is recommended, especially the LIRR to St. Albans.
Train - LIRR to St. Albans: No subway runs to Roy Wilkins Park, but the Long Island Railroad (LIRR) stops at St. Albans (on the West Hempstead line). (

Exit the train station onto Linden Boulevard. Walk east on Linden, turn right on Everit Place, and then right on Baisley Boulevard, which brings you to the main entrances to Roy Wilkins at 177th Street. There is usually a closer entrance on Linden Boulevard, but most likely it will be closed on the festival day.
From Jamaica Station, take the Q85, Q45, or Q5 buses.
Bus: Q5, Q84, or Q85 to Merrick Blvd. The Q3 stops to Farmers Blvd and Baisley Boulevard (then walk south on Baisley ). The Q4 goes along Linden Boulevard.
