Warm Up at PS 1 - Opens July 4, 2009 - Saturdays through September 5- The biggest art and dance party in Queens gets cool this year, cool as in temperature cool. The new installation for the courtyard party at PS 1 includes pipes that induct naturally chilled air over the dancing crowd.

Colombian Independence Day Festival - July 20, 2009- Want to party with the Colombians? One of the biggest outdoor events in New York City, the Colombian Independence Day Festival fills up Flushing Meadows Park like little else. Expect fits of yellow, red, and blue, plus bbq and music.

Gospelfest at Baisley Pond Park - July 25, 2009- Gospel singers and choirs from across the city and from New England gather outdoors in the park. As their voices wash over you at this afternoon and evening event (3-8 p.m.), there's canoeing, plus arts and crafts for the kids to do.

31st Annual Thunderbird American Indian Mid-Summer Powwow - July 24, 25, and 26, 2009- The biggest and longest-running Native American powwow in NYC is a spiritual event. You will be moved by just a couple hours at this three-day dance competition, held at the Queens County Farm Museum. Over 40 Native American nations are represented.
