Clearview Golf Course

Golf in Queens has grown in popularity since the four local golf courses were refurbished in the early 2000s. Forest Park, Clearview Park, Douglaston, and Kissena Park are all public golf courses owned by New York City and managed by the American Golf Corporation. Find directions and guides to these courses below on this page.

There is also a driving range in Alley Pond Park (Douglaston), a pitch-and-putt course at Breezy Point, and a pitch-and-putt plus mini-golf in Flushing Meadows Park.

Forest Park Golf Course

The Forest Park Golf Course is on the western edge of Forest Park, just off the Jackie Robinson Parkway. The 18-hole, 6,000 yard course is considered one of the best NYC golf courses. Directions to Forest Park Golf Course:

By Car: Jackie Robinson Pkwy to exit 4, Forest Park Drive.

By Subway:

  • J train to Forest Park > walk north on Forest Parkway half-mile to course.
  • R or G train to Woodhaven Blvd > Q29 bus to Myrtle Ave > walk south half-mile on Forest Park Dr to course.

By Bus:

  • B56 bus to Forest Pkwy > walk half-mile north to course.
  • B55 bus to 79th St > walk south half-mile on Forest Park Dr to course.

Clearview Golf Course

The Clearview Golf Course is mostly flat with straight fairways. It's a great location, just south of the Throgs Neck Bridge. Directions to Clearview Golf Course:

By Car:

  • Clearview Expressway to exit 7, Willets Point Blvd > left onto Willet Point Blvd > left into parking lot.
  • Cross Island (south) to exit 33 > right into parking lot.
  • Cross Island (north) to exit 32 > left under highway > right on Bell/Willets Point > continue under Clearview > left into parking lot.
  • Parking: Small free lot at course (closer to Willets Point Blvd). Larger lot for $2 or more. Some free street parking on 202nd Street.

By Subway: 7 train to Main St > Q16 bus to course.

By Train: LIRR to Bayside > Q13 bus > Q16 bus to course.

Douglaston Golf Course

A par 67, the Douglaston Golf Course has five challenging 3-par holes. It's located in eastern Queens, right where the Cross Island, LIE, and Grand Central converge. Formerly the North Hills Country Club, the Douglaston Golf Course is on the highest ground in Queens, giving views of the Manhattan skyline on a clear day. The course was renovated in 2004. By Car:

  • Grand Central Pkwy > exit 24, Little Neck Pkwy > go north onto Little Neck Pkwy > left on 61st Ave > left on Marathon Parkway > bear right at fork > parking lot on immediately right.
  • LIE > exit 32, Little Neck Pkwy > go westbound on LIE access road (Horace Harding) > left onto Marathon Parkway > bear right at fork > parking lot on immediately right.
  • Parking: At golf course, $2

By Bus: Q30

Kissena Golf Course

The Kissena Golf Course is on the eastern side of Kissena Park. The short, hilly course is good for beginners and intermediate golfers. Directions to Kissena Golf Course:

By Car: Long Island Expressway to Utopia Parkway, exit 25 > from Horace Harding access road, turn north on Utopia > left on Booth Memorial Ave (first light) > continue one and a half blocks > golf course parking lot on right.

Parking: Parking in small lot for $2. Free street parking on Booth Memorial.

By Bus: Q65 bus (connects to 7 subway at Main Street)
