Farmers' Markets in Queens, New York

Fresh Produce at Farmers' Markets throughout Queens

By John Roleke, About.com

Queens now has nine farmers' markets where you can buy fresh produce grown in the region. Produce availability changes as the season progresses. (Check out the sponsors' sites for directions and vendor lists.)

There are also several Community Supported Agriculture programs serving Queens, like the Long Island City CSA, the Astoria CSA, and the Forest Hills Tuv Ha’Aretz CSA, which involve seasonal fees for produce that you pick up each week. Or you could go straight to the source and get your plants and fresh fruit, veggies, and eggs at the Queens County Farm Museum (in the fall, the farm plans to sell wine from its own vineyard).
