The home of the Bayside Historical Society is the former Officers' Club at Fort Totten. The historical society has changing exhibits on local history in this New York City landmark. It's open to visitors Tuesdays through Sunday, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Fort Totten is a great place to visit. The views of the Throgs Neck Bridge, Douglaston, and Great Neck are exceptional. Plus there are many beautiful brick buildings on this former Army base. In 2005, Fort Totten will open officially as a park.
