Paula Radcliffe would win the 2007 NYC Marathon in two hours, 23 minutes, and nine seconds, and Wami finished second at 2:23:32.

Radcliffe is the world record-holder in the women's marathon, and won the NYC Marathon for the first time in 2004. Her 2007 win was her return to marathon racing since her recent pregnancy. She had trained during the pregnancy and resumed running quickly following the birth of her daughter in January 2007.
