Flushing Meadows-Corona Park

Can you pick out what doesn't belong?

Let's see. Common sights in Flushing Meadows Park...

Worlds Fair statues and architecture, check.

Overhead planes thundering into LaGuardia, check.

Out of season tourists, huh?

I think Flushing Meadows is a great place, but it doesn't get many tourists outside of those coming to the US Open. It was fun to spot this tourist couple goofing in front of the Worlds Fair-era statue.

If you are a tourist or just want to spend the day like one, I do recommend Flushing Meadows for a mellow day outdoors.

See the Panorama of New York City to get an overview of the whole city, and take the kids to the Queens Zoo or NY Hall of Science.

Maybe best of all, you can reserve a court at the US Open where the champs play every August.

Flushing Meadows is safe park to enjoy, but like everywhere, use common sense. I would never recommend walking the park at night. Here's more about Flushing Meadows-Corona Park.
