Directions to Water Taxi Beach

Make Your Way to the East River Beach

It can be a little tricky to find the Water Taxi Beach. A map will get you to the area, but it's not exact. So will walking toward the Manhattan skyline, but make sure to review these directions for your first visit.

By Water Taxi

Boats leave regularly from piers along the East River in Manhattan and Brooklyn to Water Taxi Beach (Hunters Point). Check the New York Water Taxi website for schedules and fares (see "Hop-on/Hop-off" weekend times and East River weekday schedules).

By Car to Water Taxi Beach

From the Queens Midtown Tunnel, take the Borden Ave/Pulaski Bridge Exit, then turn right onto Borden Ave. Drive to Borden Ave. and Second St., where you'll find the Waterfront Crab House at 2-03 Borden Ave, Long Island City.

The New York Water Taxi parking lot is across the street. Enter the driveway. Parking is $4-$5.

By Subway

7 Subway to Vernon/Jackson
Walk southwest on Jackson Ave. toward the Manhattan skyline. When you get near the Midtown Tunnel, follow the signs for 495 West until you reach 51st Ave. Turn right on 51st Ave. and walk to 2nd St. Turn left on 2nd St. and walk past the Crab House. Turn right into the New York Water Taxi driveway.

G Subway to 21st St/Jackson Ave
Exit on Jackson Ave. Look for the Manhattan skyline; walk southwest on Jackson Ave. toward Manhattan, then follow the above directions.

E, V Subway to 23rd St/Ely Ave
When you exit, you're near the Citicorp Building. Walk on 23rd St. to Jackson Ave. Walk southwest on Jackson Ave. toward the Manhattan skyline, and follow the above directions.
