Vander Ende-Onderdonk House

Onderdonk House

previous | next

Vander Ende-Onderdonk House, a Dutch colonial farmhouse built in 1709, is one of the oldest structures in Queens. It houses the Ridgewood Historical Society and is open for tours on Wednesdays and Saturdays (718-456-1776).

Incongruously, factories and trash surround the farmhouse's green-green-acre lot. See the previous photo for the view that faces the farmhouse.

Unbelievably, Onderdonk House has served as a stable, speakeasy, and factory for the Apollo space program.
