The free four-day Qualifying Tournament is held on field courts at the USTA National Tennis Center (not at Arthur Ashe Stadium). Professional tennis players compete to qualify for berths in the US Open.
Although the top players don't need to qualify, many of them will spend this time practicing at the USTA (in addition to Open Practice Day).
