Guide Review - Rosa's Pizzeria & Restaurant

If you're in Middle Village, you must get a "Grandma's" slice at Rosa's. It will liven up your day. The slice is rectangular like a Sicilian, but half as thick. It's topped with crushed tomatoes, a little pepper, plenty of garlic, and dabs of mozzarella and parmesan ($2). Their Sicilian slices are the local favorite ($1.50). They come with sauce on top of the cheese that rests on a light dough that's been perforated to cook up, not dry out. Rosa's always has specialty slices at lunch. Try a salad slice or a Sicilian covered in onions. I would stick to their strong suit and away from the pasta and heroes, though I do recommend the roast chicken pannini ($5). Rosa's is worth a visit for its marble and brass decor alone. It's classic Queens.
