History of Queens, NY

The Queens Public Library has an excellent online exhibit on the history of Queens: From Burgh to Borough: Queens Enters the 20th Century. The exhibit includes more than 75 historical photos and other images, including this one from the 1930s of a golfer in Jackson Heights.

The exhibit's map of the borough of Queens is an excellent resource for deciphering neighborhoods.
