The Hindu festival of Holi is a lot like Carnival. It is the festival of color, welcoming the spring. The Guyanese and Trinidadian community in Richmond Hill calls it Phagwah and puts on the biggest celebration in North America with a great parade. The only trouble is the weather! Dress warmly....in clothes you don't mind getting made "colorful."

Phagwah is literally the festival of color. At the parade you will most likely end up with red, purple, and green dye on your clothes. See for yourself:

It’s nothing like Carnival… there is no boozing, there is no lewd behavior, there is no 99% naked women gyrating.
