Queens...A Taste of the World Taste of Queens -- a.k.a. "Queens ...A Taste of the World" is the annual fundraiser where over 40 local restaurants put their best foods forward -- is coming to Caesar's Club at Citi Field on May 18, 2010. Sounds like a great to chance to enjoy the new stadium while snacking through dinner. (With the Mets being the Mets, sadly, this could be a highlight of the Citi Field season.)

"Queens ...A Taste of the World" is thrown by the folks at the Queens Economic Development Council (and Discover Queens).

O Lavrador This is the second time the Taste has come to Citi Field. Last year's eats was a huge success, the best attended Taste with the best range of restaurants. That said, the Steinway Restaurant, yet again, won the highest honors.

The tickets for the big Taste are pricey: $100/ticket or $185/pair, but it is a fundraiser. For tickets or for restaurants wanting to participate, contact the Discover Queens at 718-263-0546 or events@queensny.org.

(1) Metsmetsmets :

Excuse you, if you’ve bothered to read up on your Mets news, you would’ve known that they’re coming around. By the way, they beat the Cubs last night 6 to 1, the pitchers holding their own and the addition of potential great Ike Davis. And you must have forgot that we won the crazy 20 inning game a few days ago.

So no, the food would NOT be the highlight of the ENTIRE SEASON. The Mets aren’t perfectly radiant but a backhanded compliment is not necessary. And how would you know how the ENTIRE season is going to play out? Since this event IS at Citifield, how ridiculous do you sound reporting on an event pertaining to Mets fans while ridiculing the team?
