This week, Peter Facinelli, one of the stars in the hugely popular Twilight movies, came back to Queens for the holidays. He visited his high school alma mater: St. Francis Prep. The actor, who plays Carlisle Cullen in the films and also plays Dr. Fitch Cooper on the Showtime series Nurse Jackie, spoke with students at the Fresh Meadows, Queens, Catholic high school.
Facinelli told the students, "I will never forget where I came from, and even though I left Prep many years ago, the values that I acquired there have never left me."
The 36-year-old actor grew up in Ozone Park, Queens, and now lives in Los Angeles with his wife, Beverly Hills 90210 actress Jennie Garth, and their three daughters, ages 12, 7, and 3.
After Prep, Facinelli went to NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, where he acted in David Mamet's Atlantic Theater Company, with teachers that included actors William H. Macy, Felicity Huffman, and Giancarlo Esposito.
St. Francis Prep was in the news in early 2009 when it was the epicenter of New York's swine flu cases.
