Gantry Plaza State Park
Ditto JM. I have never been here but learned about it from about.com John!
It is Gantry State Plaza at the east river across from the UN. Before the park was created, the metal towers were used for train cargo.
This place is so cool – it’s right near the water taxi beach in LIC. A great discovery.
Gantry is correct. I grew up in the area, and I even remember seeing train cars being loaded there. (I am old)
As the guy who took the picture, I’ll tell you that you’re all correct : )
