It’s the firehouse in Sunnyside on 51st St betwen 43rd Ave & Skillman.
It is the Old Firehouse on Norman Avenue in Greenpoint…..
Firehouse, 47th avenue in LIC between Vernon boulevard and 11th street
Johann is right. My grandfather was the fire captain at that house until he retived in 1928. He died in 1938, when I was four years old. I used to deliver the Long Island Star Journal on that block, and would often run up to the second floor Just to slide down the pole. (what a brat.) Great memories, and great picture.
Sliding down the pole at the firehouse?? I think Michael’s is the best comment ever on this site.
Yes, Johann got it right. It’s the firehouse on 47th Ave in LIC. It was on TV even, the facade of the house in the show Third Watch.
