- Sunnyside Restaurant Month Starts [Sunnyside Chamber of Commerce]
There's no word on the Sunnyside Chamber's website, but take my word for it. There's a local restaurant month happening, separate from the forthcoming Queens restaurant week. Highlights for the Sunnyside event are Bliss Bistro and Quaint. Contact the Chamber for restaurant coupons.

- Brasilian Bites in Astoria [Eating in Translation]
Dave Cook reports on the acarajé or black-eyed-pea fritter at Brasilia Ville Grill (43-12 34th Ave., Astoria, 718-472-0090) and the soft candies at Brazilian market Rio Bonito (31-12 36th Ave., Astoria, 718-706-7272) both in Astoria's Little Brazil.
- New Eateries in Forest Hills [Forest Hills 72]
News about a couple new restaurants in the works: Moca Asian Bistro (107-18 70th Rd, Forest Hills, 718-268-3333) with its soft opening this week, and a Peruvian joint as well. But what's with all the trolls on that blog? Yuck.
