- Voting for the Best Tastes of Forest Hills [Forest Hills 72]
Lots of polls, lots of tastes to be voted.
- Sunshine Restaurant & Sweets [Eating In Translation]
Cheap -- very cheap -- and good Indian, Pakistani, and Bangladeshi food at Sunshine Restaurant & Sweets (185-10 Hillside Ave, Jamaica, 718-739-0500).
- Jack Daniels and Mauricio y Palo de Agua [Nueva York]
"Free booze and world-class entertainment to half of Colombian Jackson Heights"! How did I ever miss this one? D'Antigua (84-16 Northern Blvd, Jackson Heights, 718-779-0128) is tbe best bar in Jackson Heights. It's Latino, but I'm as gringo as it gets and always feel comfortable there.
- Riding the V Line: The Life Aquatic at Ping’s [NY Mag]
Cantonese Ping's (83-02 Queens Blvd, Elmhurst, 718-396-1238) has been a favorite for dim sum in Elmhurst for years now. NY Mag even managed to walk across the street to try it.
- Carnitas Taco [Joey in Astoria]
Love for the al pastor tacos at La Flor de Puebla (3812 Astoria Blvd, Astoria, 718-721-2426). "They have tamales."
- Closings - UJ's Luncheonette in Forest Hills bites the dust. (via Queens Central and more at Forest Hills 72)
