- Mickey's Sushi to Bayside
Forest Hills top-sushi joint Mickey's Place has closed its doors, but a tipster writes not only is it moving to Bayside, but to 40-17 Bell Blvd, Bayside, NY 11361, according to its liquor license announcement. Geez, I hope so. Sushi is a black-hole in Queens with Mickey's a long shining star whose light had dimmed in recent months. Here's to a fine rebirth in Bayside.

- Foraging With "Wildman" Steve Brill
Steve Brill has been foraging NYC parks for years, finding great flavors in some of Queens' better known parks. He's got two Queens events in November that should be excellent for mushrooming if this warm weather keeps up. Shaggy mane mushrooms in Forest Park? Yep, they're no shaggy dog story, just delish. Enoki and oyster mushrooms in Alley Pond? Pray for rain.
