Queens Eats, Restaurant Roundup - Deshi Biryani, NY Mag Cheap Eats, Le Petit Prince

Wednesday August 1, 2007
  • New York Mag's Best Cheap Eats of 2007 [NY Mag]
Real quick here are the Queens contenders that got picked: Burmese Cafe (71-34 Roosevelt Ave, Jackson Heights, 718-803-1820) Colombian fried chicken chain Frisby (83-17 Northern Blvd, Jackson Heights), Il Bambino (34-08 31st Ave, Astoria, 718-626-0087), and Sichuan joint Little Pepper (133-43 Roosevelt Ave, Flushing, 718-939-7788).
  • And Korean fried chicken gets its own article with six Queens (of seven) eateries profiled. Top drumsticks goes to Unidentified Flying Chickens (71-22 Roosevelt Ave, Jackson Heights, 718-205-6662) and second drunkstick to Kyochon (156-50 Northern Blvd, Flushing, 718-939-9292)
  • New in Jackson Heights
A new Bengali restaurant has opened up. Deshi Biryani (75-18 37th Ave, Jackson Height, 718-803-6232). That's the same style as Spicy Mina, and should be worth a taste or two.
