Weekend Events in Queens — March 23-25
Friday March 23, 2007
Top Picks of the Weekend
- Korean Comics - A Society Through Small Frames - At Flushing Library's gallery it's not Korean stand-up, but the work of cartoonists from both halves of the Korean peninsula. This touring exhibit by the Korea Society gleans insights into Korean society from the 1950s through 1990s with a survey of popular comics. Like Japanese manga, Korean comics have a wide audience and range, from mischievous Kkŏbŏngi to the bio of Wrestling King—Ryok To San. Through June 5 at Queens Library at Flushing, 41-17 Main St.
