Rebuild Queens Plaza

Thursday March 22, 2007
File this one under funny because unfortunately it's true. The Queens Gazette ran a letter to the editor by a Long Island City resident who's sick and tired of decrepit Queens Plaza (via QC). It goes beyond helping pedestrians cross the plaza:
"A pedestrian must have a reason to cross the plaza. There is none right now. You can get a donut and a lap dance on both the north and south sides of the plaza. This is a menacing place."
I couldn't agree more. The gateway to a great borough needs to be a great place. The politicians and developers have made plans and done some, but so much more needs to happen to make Queens Plaza worthy of its name.
