Woodside, Queens, on Cool in Your Code

Wednesday January 24, 2007
Cool in Your Code Woodside got its moment in the TV spotlight last night as the featured neighborhood or zip code on NYCTV's Cool in Your Code.

The show took in the local sights and tastes with stops at famed local restaurants Donovan's (the greatest burgers), Sripraphai (named for the owner's mother), and Spicy Mina (hour wait is worth it), plus a food market in Little Manila, and finishing with a pub crawl through Saints and Sinners, Sean Og, and more Irish pubs.

On the arts and culture side, the Cool in Your Code team turned up a pair of teachers/graffiti artists who do the murals under the #7, teaching local teens. And the lively scene at Topaz Arts, a dance and arts group.

The episode was a great introduction to Woodside, and even gave details on housing and rental prices. If you have a chance, try to catch it Wednesday night (1/24/07) at 10 p.m., or Saturday at 8 p.m.
