Grilled Cheese Fanatic? "This Is the Sandwich Destined to Change Your Life" - Tournesol in Long Island City

Wednesday January 17, 2007
French bistro Tournesol was a Vernon Boulevard pioneer in Long Island City, one of the first of the current crop of eateries and bars moving up Hunters Point's gentrifying main street.

It remains one of the finer choices on the strip, and continues to prove that you can eat fine food for reasonable prices (a.k.a. not Manhattan prices) just minutes from Midtown.

Guest reviewer Annie Miller weighs in with her review of Tournesol here. She definitely gets a kick out of the French atmosphere, but keeps it honest, concentrating on the restaurant's renditions of the hamburger and the grilled cheese, Croque Madame. She says: "If you're a grilled cheese fanatic, this is the sandwich destined to change your life."

If you've been to Tournesol and want to chime in with your impression, please hit the comments.
