Mets Fall to Cardinals in the Ninth
Thursday October 19, 2006
There's no joy in Flushing. Carlos Beltran has struck out. The Mets took it to the last pitch of the bottom of the ninth inning of Game 7 in the NLCs, but they just couldn't take the pennant.
There's not much to say except see you next year at Shea. Oh, and Endy Chavez, your catch was amazing, and wherewithal to turn it into a double play was doubly amazing. Great year, Mets. Sad way to see it go.
