Propia Visión / Our Vision - Mexican Photographers at the Queens Museum of Art
Thursday July 20, 2006
Nineteen Mexican photographers contribute to Propia Visión the new show opening at the Queens Museum of Art. All the photographers have lived and worked in the New York area, and bring the immigrant filter to their lenses. Some of the photos on exhibit are actually taken in Queens, including one of the Mexican Independence Day celebration in Jackson Heights.
I am glad to see that for at least a few weeks Propia Visión will be paired with ABCDF: Portraits of Mexico City - the visual catalog of Mexico City - which is on view until August 20.
