Picnic Concerts in the Rockaways

Rockaway Music and Arts Council hosts free summer concerts this summer at Fort Tilden. Concerts start at 6 p.m. on every other Sunday (see full schedule). Admission is free. Bring your own chairs and food. This Sunday, June 25, it kicks off with country and western music by the Road House Band. Contact the Rockaway Music and Arts Council for more info at 718-474-6760.

To reach Fort Tilden / Jacob Riis Park, take the Flatbush Avenue exit south from the Belt Parkway, or the Cross Bay Boulevard south and then west on Beach Channel Drive. (Google Map of Fort Tilden)

  • June 25, 2006 - The Road House Band - Country Western
  • July 16 - Tribute to Musician Legends with the music of Louie Prima, Bobby Darin and The Four Seasons
  • July 30 - Andy Cooney Band - Irish music
  • August 13 - Long Island Pops Orchestra -Genius of Mozart
  • August 27 - Kings of the Keyboard - Celebrating rag-time great Scott Joplin
