Time Out New York - Best Eats Awards 2006

Earlier this week Time Out New York announced its Eat Out Awards for 2006 (via Eater). Taking top Queens honors was Astoria's 718 (35-01 Ditmars Blvd), winning the the "Queens Restaurant" category. Time Out called 718 a "consistent crowd-pleaser" and loved its crème brûlée trio, saying "Eat that, 212."

In addition to the other nominees in the Queens category, a couple more borough restaurant got nominated as contenders. My prediction for next year: Lil' Bistro 33 storms up the charts, and Lounge 47 gets there for best burger in a sunny garden:

• Queens Restaurant - 718 (Aganti, Sripraphai, Tournesol, Trattoria L'Incontro)

• Garden - Cavo (nominee)
• New Burger Joint - Joe's BestBurger (nominee)
