Wood Memorial at Aqueduct Racetrack
The premier race at Aqueduct Racetrack is the Wood Memorial, part of the Triple Crown Trail. This year is the 82nd running of the Wood Memorial and its purse is set at $750,000. Over the years, eleven Wood Memorial winners have gone on to win the Kentucky Derby.
Many of the top-competing three-year-old thoroughbreds will race the nine furlongs as a tune-up for the Kentucky Derby and other Triple Crown races.
If spring weather ever shows up, that Saturday at the races would be a fine reason to get back outdoors.
