5 Boro Bike Tour - Queens Route

Tuesday April 4, 2006
Remember during the transit strike when biking was your only option? And there were bike lanes on the bridges and many streets to ease your way. You'll have another chance to relive those days -- everything except the icy weather -- this May 7.

Join one of the best bicycling events in New York City - the Five Boro Bike Tour. Thousands of bikers will ride through all five boroughs on 42 miles of traffic-free streets.

Riders leave Manhattan via the Queensboro Bridge, and have two rest stops in Queens: Astoria Park (mile 19 -- bulk arriving 11 am to noon) and the Con Ed Learning Center (mile 21).

Best bet for meeting friends is at Astoria Park. Best place for cheering is on 11th Street in Hunters Point, a long block from Lounge 47 and LIC, before riders cross the Pulaski to Brooklyn.
