Astorian Weekend Edition — March 31
By Meg of Joey in Astoria

Friday March 31, 2006
blossom What great weather we finally had this week! I hope you all get out and frolic this weekend. Maybe go for a run down by Astoria Park, have pancakes at Zorba's (29-05 23rd Ave), or juice at Fresh Start (2913 23rd Ave). Be sure to pick up their "Buy 6 Get the 7th Juice Free" card. To Laiko (2929 23rd Ave) up the street has homemade Greek yogurt with honey, something I've been meaning to try. A picnic lunch from D&F deli sounds good too. Hey, on Sunday afternoon around 3 p.m. there's Ultimate Frisbee at Astoria Park! Sunday's gonna be a great day for that sort of thing!

But apart from hanging in Astoria, on Sunday go recognize your natural or more recent connection to Greece at the Greek Independence Day Parade in Manhattan. (Or to fools by braving April Fool's tricksters this Saturday at the April Fool's Parade, wink-wink, nudge-nudge.)

Sunday is also the start of Daylight Savings Time. Remember to turn your clocks forward an hour Saturday night, which means you have only 23 hours to make every second count outdoors.
