Have you heard of the new joint Hell Gate Social (12-21 Astoria Blvd)? Word on the street says it's a great place to socialize with your fellow Astorians. They have live music and DJs pumping a real eclectic mix.

Or try Crescent Lounge (32-05 Crescent St). I finally dropped by, and I -- must say -- loved it. It was such a chill place. And the huge group of regulars were very welcoming. Comfy chairs and decent drinks...I can forget about the time at a place like this. Take some friends and enjoy.

This Sunday wake up semi-early and go be peaceful at Creating Happiness on Buddhist meditation at the Grace Lutheran Church (31-20 21st Ave, noon - 2 p.m.).

Feeling better about life? Have a double of literary enlightenment at LIC Bar (45-58 Vernon Blvd, 3 p.m.), with two local novelists reading from their new books, both of which just happen to be about twins.
