Have you heard of Flickr? The website gives a free way to host and share digital photos online. What sets it apart from the Kodak Galleries of the Internet is public sharing and tagging of shots. Tagging means assigning a label like "Queens" or "cat" or "Andre the Giant" to an image. Then anyone interested in that topic can easily find your public photos through that tag. transit strike

And thousands and thousands of folks are doing that around the world -- continually adding new shots, tagging them, and exploring others' tags. In the process, they're giving us an ever expanding photo tour of Queens. Start with a pool (group) dedicated to Queens and move on to tags for Astoria, the Rockaways, and your own neighborhood.

Sure, there's some noise in there, but it's worth it to find amazing shots like the Citibank Tower shrouded in July's humidity.
