The Chocolate Factory in Long Island City

Wednesday October 19, 2005
No, the Chocolate Factory doesn't make chocolate. (I wish.) It's a relatively new theater and multi-arts space in Hunters Point, Long Island City. It's housed in a former chocolate factory, so you have to imagine a bit of Willy Wonka has seeped into the place. Expect some of the freshest and most original theater, music, and dance performances in Queens (Follow link to PDF of Fall 2005 calendar). Plus they have a gallery for the visual arts and multimedia.

Not sure you're ready for theater in Hunters Point? Try it on a Thursday night when Queens residents are invited to "pay what you will." Pair it with a burger and drink at Lounge 47.

A new art exhibit opens at the Chocolate Factory on October 28, a solo show by Forest Hills-resident Scott Lewis. Check out his twisted paintings and stories at the opening on Friday, October 28, 5-7 p.m.
