Knitting Stores in Queens

Monday October 3, 2005
Queens-based blogger A Knitter in Queens was kind enough to chime in over the weekend with the details on two knitting shops in Queens. She writes there's Knitwits (35-16 Bell Blvd, Bayside), which "is in a building that looks like a residential house. Knitwits is on the second floor of the house. They have a good selection of high-end yarns." And there's also Smiley's Yarns in Woodhaven (92-06 Jamaica Ave, Woodhaven, 718-849-9873), which she hasn't visited but knows many who "frequent it on a regular basis."

Take a read of A Knitter in Queens, a fascinating slice-of-life from a dedicated knitter. She's also a kindergarten teacher, one of the most vital jobs in the world.
