Andre Agassi's Mojo - Never Say Quit - US Open Update

Thursday September 8, 2005
Last night veteran Andre Agassi, the oldest man playing singles tennis in the tournament, beat surging James Blake in a five-set epic, battling back from two sets to nothing. It was an amazing comeback for Agassi, who is a full decade older than Blake, and the fans loved it.

The US Open is now getting down to brass tacks. The semifinals are coming up. Agassi meets fellow American and gutsy unseeded upstart Robby Ginepri on Saturday. Another American veteran player Mary Pierce has made the semis. Pierce has a renewed game and confidence and faces Elena Dementieva on Friday. Last night Lindsay Davenport lost to Dementieva in the quarterfinals despite the Russian's flawed serves. Maria Sharapova and Kim Clijsters will meet in the other women's semifinal match.
