A Reading in Astoria Park

Tuesday July 19, 2005
Astoria Park, site of the on-high Hell Gate Bridge and heavenly deep blue Astoria Pool, is now getting some verbal poetry to match its visuals. Park Lit comes to Astoria Park this Wednesday with poetry readings by three Queens writers: Sam Lipsyte, Jeffrey Renard Allen, and former Queens Poet Laureate Hal Sirowitz. The event is sponsored by the local gallery/arts center Buzzer 30, plus Open City Magazine & Books, Mr. Beller's Neighborhood, and NYC Parks Department. Afterwards keep the words flowing at nearby Bohemian Hall's Beer Garden.
