Mosquito Spraying in Rockaways - July 11

Monday July 11, 2005
Every year NYC sprays for mosquitoes at several sites in Queens. This Monday it's the Far Rockaways turn. NYC Health Department plans to spray for mosquitoes in the Rockaways on the night of July 11, starting 8:30 p.m. and ending by 6 a.m. Tuesday morning. Neighborhoods affected are Arverne, Somerville, Bayswater, and Edgemere (including Edgemere Park and Landfill). NYC advises that people with asthma or other respiratory conditions remain indoors during spraying. I would add children. A/C's can be kept on but set at closed ventilation. Afterwards wash anything you left outdoors like toys or tools.
