Powwow at Flushing Meadows

Wednesday July 6, 2005
This weekend there's a two-day Native American powwow at Flushing Meadows. The 8th Annual Circle of Nations 'Pauline R. Hunt' Powwow brings together Native peoples from New York City, featuring the dances of several tribes. Powwows are considered a sacred event, and open to all. See more about the powwow tradition and etiquette. The two-day festival will also have Native food and arts-and-crafts.

UPDATE: It's been reported that dances weren't happening today, July 9, between noon and 2 p.m. Call ahead to check on dance times.
