Flushing Meadows Park - Address and Directions
Tuesday June 21, 2005
This week the email has come in asking for a Flushing Meadows address. Folks from out of town just don't realize how big the park is, much bigger than Central Park, but here are a few tips.
- Flushing Meadows is in Corona and Flushing, two neighborhoods of Queens, New York.
- Public transportation is the best way to Flushing Meadows. Take the #7 subway or LIRR.
- Google Map of Flushing Meadows.
- Directions to Flushing Meadows from the major highways.
- Most buildings in the park don't have a real address. They just use the park's name.
- Shea Stadium's address is useful, but most park activities are south of Shea and Roosevelt Avenue:
- Shea Stadium, 123-01 Roosevelt Ave, Flushing, NY 11368
- The park's center is the Unisphere -- a giant, steel globe that's easy to spot.
- Most concerts and festivals in Flushing Meadows are held on a stage just south of the Unisphere, including this weekend's Billy Graham Crusade.
