Waterskiing Championships in Flushing Meadows

Waterskiing comes to Flushing Meadows Corona Park this Friday for the three-day 2005 MasterCraft Pro WaterSki Championships. This free public tournament on Meadow Lake will mark the first time that motorboats have cruised the lake in more than 40 years. The top athletes in waterskiing will show their skill in slalom, jumps, and flat-out speed racing. There will also be shortboard competitions and a wakeboard exhibition.

Surprisingly, the sponsor will let anyone test-drive their speedboats. Unfortunately, that won't be on Meadow Lake, but over on Lake Hopatcong in New Jersey. Contact Boating World Test Drive for details.
