Kitchrie 2005 — Indo-Caribbean Festival
Thursday June 2, 2005
Kitchrie is a broth of boiled rice and peas cooked with ghee, garlic, and cumin, but it's also an annual celebration of Indo-Caribbeans in New York. The two-day event on June 10 and 11 brings together Indo-Caribbeans from Guyana, Trinidad, and Suriname to celebrate their art, music, dance, drama, and food. See the Rajkumari Cultural Center website for all the Kitchrie 2005 schedule details, and don't miss the Saturday-night concert and party.
