Pac-Mondrian at Museum of Moving Image

Thursday March 17, 2005

Pac-Mondrian is a video game artwork that combines 1980s Pac-man with the abstract painting "Broadway Boogie Woogie" by Piet Mondrian. Here's the kicker -- it's art that played as an arcade video game.

This Friday evening Pac-Mondrian's creators will perform live at the Museum's opening of Digital Play: Reloaded, its expanded interactive, art gaming exhibit.

The Museum of the Moving Image is a huge success, bringing lots of visitors and residents to the former Astoria Studio. Recently, it announced plans to double in size, and a name change, from the "American Museum of the Moving Image" to the simpler "Museum of the Moving Image."

It is one of the best small museums in New York, with high-quality delights to entertain and enlighten kids and adults.
