Glass Artist in Long Island City

Thursday January 27, 2005
Michael Davis, a glass artist working in Long Island City, made the NY Times today.

Mr. Davis is a great example of Long Island City's energy and transformation from industrial center to art center. He's an artist working in glass, a medium with an intense, industrial aspect; his studio is in a former foundry built in the nineteenth century; he's an expert in custom designing antique glass fixtures; and his contemporary blown glass sells at Tiffany's and department stores. All this in a studio that's minutes away from Midtown Manhattan.
