Swish Swish - Threading Eyebrows in Jackson Heights

Thursday January 20, 2005
Food and Bollywood bop aren't the only reasons to visit Jackson Heights Little India neighborhood. Gulzar Beauty Salon is one of several salons offering facial hair removal via threading, a traditional Indian technique. Wendy Zarganis, the About.com Brooklyn guide, even leaves her favorite borough to go to Gulzar. She emailed:
It's a weird experience. You just sit in a barbershop type chair and they whip out the thread and use it like dental floss around the eyebrow. You should check it out. I think it was like 5 bucks.
Think I'll take a pass on it, thanks very much, but here's another writer on eyebrow threading who says it's less painful than tweezing.
