Mets Momentum

At least in the off-season the NY Mets have ratcheted up their momentum, signing Carlos Beltran to play center field. Beltran will join the other new hire, star pitcher Pedro Martinez, playing at Shea Stadium for the first time this spring.

Media coverage of Beltran's signing has been very positive, unlike the double-guessing about Martinez's contract size and pitching arm. Like attracts like, and folks seem to like the team that Mets general manager Omar Minaya has begun to assemble. May the deal-making energy zing over to the baseball diamond.
